This young athlete boasts considerable social media following
Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile backers as she begins her LPGA debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, obtained a sponsor's invitation to play at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates numerous golf courses and often plays against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she revealed.
Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to compete and have fun," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's just an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's rather occupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions this year and holds ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
Yet she can seek guidance from golf legend, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He is the best player worldwide," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's an even better person. He suggested me to go out there, have fun, and go with the flow."
Kai will face several most prominent players in the sport at the competition, such as world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Officials stated that involving Kai helps introduce the sport to wider groups, specifically with youth audiences.
Kai maintains millions of followers and just introduced her own apparel and wellness brand.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
