Jurgen Klopp admits rejoining to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that a future comeback is an option. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-season tenure that included continental glory and the Premier League crown since 1990, has since taken on roles in a global football capacity for Red Bull and as an advisor to Germany's league body.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured England's top flight under Arne Slot, but many fans holding him in high esteem would welcome the notion that he may eventually return. In a wide-ranging interview, he explained to his interviewer: “I declared I won't manage a different club within the country. Which implies should it be the Reds...yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“Being 58, that means I could make the decision down the line, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. Luckily, I don’t have to do that. I can just see how things unfold.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about the specific conditions would need to occur to draw him back to the dugout, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “It's unclear to me, I love what I do right now,” he said. “No longing for management; I don’t miss standing under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; I'm glad to skip interviews four times, three times a week or doing numerous chats a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room as a dressing room, however, dining out with the players having a nice chat, I appreciate that. With many victories so there was often great spirits at the club. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, praising him for the adjustments that took the title in the previous season. Liverpool have lost four in a row in all competitions after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the notion of it representing a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, you will all eat your words with negative comments. An outstanding player. Ekitike, incredible player. This is a well-built thoughtfully assembled roster. Fans shouldn't fret regarding the Reds, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling about the death of Jota, a 2020 acquisition while in charge, along with the consequences at the club. The Portugal international was killed in a road accident alongside his brother this past summer.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond his on-field talent, it's his character. It's hard to picture the squad absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. It was an incredible shock for all the boys also. Nobody at Liverpool would cite it for poor performances but it is the situation. Entering the changing area where he was omnipresent. Handling this on a personal level is difficult. Unbearable.”
