American-Palestinian Adolescent Freed After Nine-Month Period in Israeli Detention

A Palestinian-American adolescent after completing nine months in Israel's custody absent formal charges has been freed.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old during his detention last February within the occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida accused of stone-throwing at Jewish settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.
American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.
Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization right after being freed, family members reported.
They said he is visibly pale and thin, and is suffering from conditions developed during imprisonment.
Via family representatives, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "immense relief".
The uncle, Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"Currently, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after experiencing Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions for months."
US officials announced ongoing to offer diplomatic assistance for the Ibrahim family.
{"American leadership considers paramount than the safety and security of American nationals"," it added.
Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to the state department and the White House, demanding more be done for his freedom.
Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, previously said his child admitted guilt to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.
There were no visits nor direct contact since February, learning information solely what had happened to him via legal paperwork.
He stayed without charge at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.
The facility also contains mature inmates, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations and homicide.
Approximately 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, per correctional service statistics.
Many have never been charged along with monitoring agencies, as well as the United Nations, report instances of abuse and torture.
After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.
